School overview
The Florence School of Regulation (FSR) is a partnership between the European University Institute (EUI) / Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS), the Council of the European Energy Regulators (CEER) and the Independent Regulators Group (IRG), and it works closely with the European Commission. Its objectives are to: organize policy events dealing with key regulatory issues; provide state-of-the-art training for practitioners; produce analytical and empirical research in the field of regulation; promote networking, trough documents and ideas exchanges.
It is an European forum dedicated to economic regulation where policy and business decision-makers, regulators, regulated companies and academics from different countries who are involved in regulation can meet, allowing to develop cross-country issues as well as comparing national experiences and country specific regulatory problems.

The School is characterised by a light governance structure that ensures the active participation of both its partners and its sponsors. Financing and other resources for the initiatives and management of the Florence School of Regulation are provided by the partners and by a number of regulated or non-regulated companies with an interest in the subject matter (these are known as sponsors, divided into: major and associate) who participate in this initiative through the payment of an annual fee.
